Not on Rex Manning Day!

A recent conversation on Twitter brought up fond memories of a movie I haven't thought about in a long time: Empire Records

Ok, so the fasion is questionable, the music is grunge, but the lines are classic.

So in the immortal words of The Doors, 'The time to hesitate is through.'

United States of Tara

Tara Gregson is a wife and mother with Dissociative identity disorder (DID). After deciding to take a break from her medication to discover the real cause of her disorder, her alternate personalties re-emerge: wild and flirty teenager T; old-fashioned housewife Alice; and male, loud, beer-drinking Vietnam vet Buck. Tara is supported by her calm and level-headed husband Max, her somewhat troubled teenage daughter Kate and quirky, good-hearted gay son Marshall. Her sister, Charmaine, is not so supportive, often expressing her doubt about the validity of Tara's disorder. From Wiki

I first learnt about this show when being forced to watch Rove one Sunday night, and was intrigued by the interview with Toni Collette. So I watched the series, and found it rather interesting.

Maybe it is my psych backgound, but I was intrigued by how the family, and Tara, coped with everything that went on.

And maybe just a tiny tiny little bit of me made me see my disjointed family as 'normal' Pin It

I have an addiction...

...and its worse than hard drugs.

"My name is April, and I am addicted to TV".

I now watch 20 shows a week. My new favourite is 'My Family'

My Family is about the life of the Harpers, a fictional English family, who live in London. Ben, a dentist, and Susan, a tour guide who later works for an art gallery, have three children, Nick, Janey and Michael, all of whom cause problems in their own way. While Susan is a control freak, Ben prefers to leave the children to it and tries not to get involved. The humour, like most domestic sitcoms, derives from the relationships of the family members and the situations they end up in.

It stars Kris Marshall (from Love Actually), who always amuses me. Such a funny man. I started watching it yesterday, and haven't stopped laughing. Just as well as i am hope sick, laughter is the best medicine
