International Food Day

A few weeks back at work we held a Taste of Harmony International Food Lunch.

This is the second year we have done this, with great success! Last year most of the office took part, and we had enough food to feed a small army. We seriously did not have to bring lunch for a week!!! This year it was a smaller group, and we learnt to only bring small portions.

Now, knowing what kind of cook I am (a crappy one on a good day), I struggled to think of something to bring. And then, like a lightening bolt, it hit me.

Needless to say, my office was as impressed with them as I am!

A new favourite meal

I have been flat out at work recently, and meal times have been somewhat lacking.

Tonight I made this:

Ok, so that isn't exactly the meal I made, but it is Herb Encrusted Atlantic Salmon. However my version came from a box. Specifically this box
I have to say, it was darn good! And I hate fish with a passion. I seriously never eat it. But something made me want salmon the other day when I was doing the grocery shopping.

Anyway, both the husband and I were impressed at how nice it was, and have decided it will become a regular in our meal rotation!

What they don't tell you about weightloss

When thinking about how my life would change after surgery, I thought I had thought of everything. I would need new clothes. I would need to alter my eatting habits. I would need to exercise. I would need to take a vitamin, as I doubt I would get enough vitamins from the small amount of food I would be eatting.

I did not consider that my feet would lose weight, and I would need new shoes.

Oh drat, I HAVE to go shopping for new shoes!
Oh how I love new shoes. Especially black heels for work! And these, well they are uber cute!

Our office has long been forgotten.

In fact, the last three times I have been in there were to check the answering machine (that is still sitting in the middle of the floor by the way), to restart the modem, and to restart the external hard-drive.

So it is far to say that it doesn't get used a whole lot, especially for organisational things. But when I saw this noticeboard on Adventures in Renovating a Brooklyn Limestone, I was in love. The magnets, the frame, the classic silver and white.

I need one similar! If only I could find a radiator grill at the hardware store.

Just when you think...

Just when you think we have it all sorted, BAM! The game plan changes.

Both houses have their positives and negatives. I think to make a choice we might need to have a yabbie race or similar!

Hamptons Styling

Time to go House Walking again. This time the Churchill 33 by Porter Davis

How devine is that kitchen. And that wall of a shower? Oh the hours I could spend in there!

Citrus Trees

I love it when we get junk mail, especially when it is a Mitre10 or Bunnings catalogue. And today was a special day, there was BOTH!!!

I saw these Citrus Splitzer and was intrigued.
Citrus Splitzer provides you with two distinctly different citrus on the one tree. Double your citrus options using the same space required for one tree.
I think I am loving the lemon and orange combo the most. Or maybe the lemon and lime. At $90 a pop I think I shall put some more thought into it first though.

Do you want to meet someone awesome?

I am blessed that I have some awesome friends. I am an only child (well I do have 3 step-sibblings, but they are all older than me, and I never lived with them), and classify my closest friends as my family! I would class them as more than family, as the saying goes, "you can choose your friends..."

Anyway, this is Britty. Everyone say "Hi!!!"

Britt and I live several states apart but have one of those friendships where the distance doesn't matter (well, least I don't think it does). We email back and forth daily about all kinds of things, nothing is spared! I feel like I have known Britt my whole life, yet it has only been a few short years! It has even come to the point where the husband knows Britt and her husband as though they are our neighbours!

Anyway, Britt blogs over here about all kinds of things, from her work, to decorating her new house, to her adorable kitty and puppy children! Oh, and shopping. This girl loves to shop!!!

Go on, go visit Britt, and make sure you tell her I sent you :)

Dark American Styling

Porter Davis have some amazing houses. Some amazing over the top houses (such as the 5 bedroom 6 bathroom house), but I love how they style their houses.

The husband and I walked though this house the other day, and were amazed with how nice it was.

Front Entrance

Kitchen (those cabinets were to die for!)

Dining Room

Lounge Room

Outdoor Room

Guest Bedroom

Master Bedroom

Girly Girl Bedroom

There were a few other rooms, but we especially loved the powder room (which there is no photo of). It was situated so that when the door was open all you saw was a pedastool basin and an ornate mirror. The door blocked the toilet from sight. IT WAS AMAZING!!! So much so, even the husband commented on how pretty it was!

I wish PD built in our area :(

Point and Shoot Monday

This weekend saw my mummy and I go to Melbourne and attend a Chocolate High Tea at the Langham in Melbourne for her birthday. We both had an amazing time, and left feeling ever so full, and needing a detox!

Head on over to Fat.Mum.Slim and show Telle what you did this weekend!

The Book Depositry

I love The Book Depository! Not only are their books generally cheaper than Amazon, they also have free shipping worldwide! In fact, I love it so much I rarely set foot in a proper bookstore.

I have just ordered another two books for myself:
And I am going to share a secret with you: If you pay with PayPal you can have a further 5% discount if you use this link.

Can you keep a secret???

I have a secret to share, but it's rather embarrassing.

But you won't laugh, right? RIGHT???

Now we have that understood, here is my secret. I am re-watching Dawsons Creek. And enjoying it!!!

Ahh the memories (and the fashion) :)

Artwork for our bedroom

I was flicking through Real Living today, and came across Genre, and fell in love with this

I think it would be grand above our bed, especially with our red and white doona cover.

Love It

On a recent trip to the doctors, I had some time to spare, so I went down the street to check out Williamstown. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I found an awesome bookstore, a chocolate shop, and Love It Homewares.

Love It is one of those shops where you can easily spend hours, as there is so much to look at. There is something for everyone, and every house, in this shop. No matter what your style, be it ultra modern, or shabby chic, there is something there for you.

I walked out with the stone hearts in the picture above (that are beside my bed, I love turning them over in my hands as I think), and a scented candle which is in the lounge room. I could seriously have brought a lot more, but I was on a time frame. I did however promised myself that I would go back each time I am in the area though.

If you are ever in Willi, check out this store!

Oversize Mirrors

I am loving this black mirror from Mostly Mirrors, but I think I would like it in white.

At 1.25m x 2.17m it would be perfect for our bedroom!
