At My House

It's has been very lonely in our house last week, and will continue for the next four weeks, as the husband is working away from home during the week. As much as I love coming home to a clean house, and cooking what I want for dinner, I do miss coming home to a roaring fire, and having someone to cuddle with on the couch of a night.

Thank goodness for iChat and mobile phones!

This week at our house we are patching all the new skirtings in the bathroom, ready for painting. I am hoping that I can convince the husband that we should paint the bathroom this Friday seeing as though we have the day off work (and because Kerry comes for dinner on Sunday).

My mum is a cat lover. Not quite as crazy cat lover as the woman I met recently at my brothers engagement party, but she does love cats.

When I brought my she was insanely jealous and wanted to know why I didnt buy her a set too. Probably because she is 45 and doesnt wear pigtails as much as me. So when LouLou blogged about her elegant black cats magnets, I decided that I need to find them for mummsie for christmas.

To go shopping on Friday in the city. I have a big day planned, I have my car booking for for a service at 8.300am (which means I need to leave home at 7.15am :O ) and then onto Melbs for a shoe shopping frenzy, before seeing my doctor in the afternoon. It has ben a while since I have been excited about general shopping (that doesnt involve the house)

It's Tuesday and I Can't Wait...

...for Friday. I have my first appointment with my surgeon, and am asking for my first fill. I am trying to loose another 5 kg before my friends wedding at the end of October. If I could loose even more I would be estatic :D

to be able to walk on my kitchen slab.

I just had to drive to Maccas to go to the loo. Husband thought it was great, as he got chippies for dinner

Worst thing is, husband left my hair straightner in the bathroom, so it is looking like I will have to go to my interview with fuzzy hair! Oh the horror!

Buttons By Lou

For a while now I have been following Buttons By Lou (who is also the creator of It's Tuesday and I Can't Wait) and contemplating buying some of her hair elastics. I think they are the cutest thing out.

Ok, so I do realise they are meant for little girls, and probably not 25 year old women, but I wear a pony tail to work most days, and well, I wanted something pretty.

So, after a lot of ummming and ahhhhing, I chose these ones

We saw the ad on tv whilst sitting in the surgeon's waiting room yesterday, and decided it would be wise to have a look see.

For today to be over so I can have the worlds tiniest sip of something. 12 hours without food is a long time in my world. Especially when I cant eat anything before surgery but have to watch my husband eat eggs on toast. I hate him right now.

Best I get used to it though. It will all be worth it in the end.

It's Tuesday and I Cant' Wait

Over the weekend, I brought a new clothes dryer from ebay. It is practically brand new, rarely been used, and was local (a rarity), and best of all, $250 cheaper than the one we had been looking at earlier in July.

So, I cant wait to have the old dryer moved out, so I can paint the inside of our laundry cupboard, and have the doors installed. I am thinking of painting it the same colour as the rest of our house, with the back wall the same colour as our lounge feature wall.

...for my kitchen to be renovated.

Honestly, I am over the shambles that we currently call a kitchen.

Especially the oven!

Last night I cooked a quiche, and in my wisdom, looked inside the oven, and noticed that the husband has burnt food to the bottom of the oven. AGAIN! I am now refusing to clean the oven until I have a new kitchen, and even then, i might just not clean it.

To get home from my mum's house and use my own computer. I wish she had brought a mac like I told her to. Instead she asks me a million questions about her windows computer that I just don't know the answer to.

Simple yes, but man I hate her computer!
