I wish I could pull this off

I wish I could pull off the peaked cap look. I would so buy this cap
The husband thinks it reminds him of the hats his Pop wears. It so doesn't though, his are tartan with pompoms on top! This is Burberry!!!

The scarf

Sorry, i forgot to take a picture on Saturday, Sunday was makeup free day, and I went to bed last night.

So without further ado, i present the scarf

Scuse the dodgy look on my face, it was 7am, and it is hard work to look cheerful and take ones photo at the same time at that hour of day Pin It

Love at first feel

Remember when i blogged about my desperate need for a burberry scarf?

Well, the husband scored major brownie points when he brought it for me for my birthday earlier this month. MAJOR BROWNIE POINTS! I think I am in love with it, it just feels so lovely on my neck.

Must go and take a photo of it Pin It

The present . was settled

Well, Iwe managed to settle the present argument today. I was wondering through David Jones (my new favourite home) and I spotted these pretties

Now I love pearls. Diamonds are fine, but I prefer pearls. Always have, most likely always will. So these babies are me down to a tee.

Soooo, I rang the husband to express my love to him in a sickly sweet manor. He suspected I was up to something (drat) and asked what it was that I wanted.

Seems the scarf is now a hot favourite as a gift, given the price tag of the glasses ;)

Oh well, christmas is only 6 months away

Husband Training School

I work in an open plan office, where I am younger than everyone by 20-40 years. I get along with the people I work with, but I am definitely younger than them, and it shows some days.

Now, when I started this job, I had been home from my honeymoon for 36 hours (and I was paying for it). So my work mates have seen my marriage blossom into what it is today. And quite often I tell them stories of the 'trying times' of marriage.

No, I am not talking about the arguments we have. But the times where the husbandito makes me go "what the...?".

Like the time where he asked if I would be willing to allow him to go away hunting over my birthday. (Answer: 'yes, yes you may, providing you are willing to part with your testicles'). Or the time where we argued over the choice of vehicle for my car (he won, and pays for it daily).

But there are also times where a male colleague goes "What the f**k is he thinking". Like when discussing Christmas shopping, and I mentioned how I had chosen my own christmas present. My colleague was shocked at this, as he thought i was being picky (I am). A female colleague thought I was smart.

But todays gem came when discussing flowers. My work had held a function the previous night, and for a donation to the Cancer Council, you could take home the floral arrangements. I mentioned to another male colleague he should take them home for his wife. He promptly told me to "not be stupid, that would make her think he was guilty of something". I ever so quickly replied "he needs to attend April's School of Husband Training".

And it got me thinking, I have trained husbandito quite well for 15 months of marriage. He is currently working in Melbourne this week, and mentioned he was going shopping. I cringed, thinking that he was going to the motorbike shop (an instant way to drain our bank account). I voiced this opinion, to which he replied "no, I am going shopping at Burberry for a pink check scarf".

I love my husband, he is so well trained.

A disagreement of sorts

Photo blatantly stolen from an eBay auction

This evening, whilst sitting on the couch watching Borat, I brought up the subject of my birthday with the husband.

This is how it went

Me: "Darling, you know how you got that Waeco (fridge thing for the car) for your birthday?"
Him: "What do you want?"
Me: "A scarf"
Him: "Go buy one then"
Me: "It's a bit expensive" (Fool! What was I thinking? I should have stopped here)
Him: "How much?"
Me: "$500" (muttered under my breath
Him: some rant about how many sheep we could buy for $500 and how my mum could knit me a scarf...I tuned out at this point, dejected.

Now, incase you hadn't worked it out yet, I have a taste for 'the finer things in life' (which is the polite way of saying I am a brand snob). I love designer items. It makes me feel human in this tiny town I live in.

Now, some might say $500 is a lot to spend on a scarf, but think of the wear I could get out of it? At christmas time I brought a $700 Oroton handbag, claiming I would use it every day (as opposed to changing bags weekly, like I was doing with my cheaper bags). And 6 months in, I haven't changed bags as of yet! I love it. I have had so much wear from it, heck, I even used it as an overnight bag at the hospital the other day (it is that big!). So on that basis, I could get a lot of use from a Burberry scarf.

I think I need to bring up the topic in another way...
