Willow Mae

I recently discovered Willow Mae by a friend on Facebook, and fell instantly in love with a pair of bloomers and their matching singlet.

Does Eliza look spunky in them? I know I am biased, but who doesn't love ruffles on a little girls bum?

Mon lovingly hand makes every item she sells, which is why she only sells during market nights. To find out when they are you will need to follow her on Facebook. Seriously, even though you will possibly have to wait for a sale, you won't regret it, her creations are spot on, and of supreme quality. I received so many lovely comments on Eliza's outfit that day.

(Willow Mae have no idea who I am, nor that I have written this post. It is purely my passing of information to you, as I know you all love cute things)

Mummy Uniform

I have never been an overly fashionable person, but I like to think I looked 'nice'. Lately though, I have become victim of the "Mummy Fashion" trend.

Cargo jeans - check. Birkenstock sandles - check. Non-descript t-shirt - check. lack of makeup and hair - check.

I really do need some new clothes!

Hats

I love children's hats, they are just so cute! I wish Eliza would tolerate them.

All hats from Little Bird Lucy

I love the reindeer hat, it would make an awesome prop for a christmas card!

Shopping for others

So, whilst pregnant I loved shopping for clothes for our unborn child, but I didn't know what gender to shop for, so I brought both. In order to not put my husband into an early grave, I was rather conservative on buying both genders, despite loving so many little girl things.

As luck would have it, now that I have a little girl, I am not loving the clothes out there for her! How typical! I am however loving the latest gymbo line for little boys (ahem, Amy)

Changing Houses for Clothes

I am changing out my regular house stalking this week for clothes stalking instead, just in case you want a bargain too!

I recently started to think about packing my hospital bag, deciding on what to put in it. Don't get me wrong, I am diva who thinks that post birth will equal high society fashion, but I wanted something that I was comfortable in that looked nice too for photos.

So for my hospital bag I decided on some black yoga pants, some basic singlets and tops, and some cardigans. I am quite a fan of cardigans, and have many, but I wanted something new to wear that wasn't the same old thing I had been wearing for most of my pregnancy. Which was kind of handy, as good old Jeans West was having a sale on some of their styles - 2 cardigans for $50! How could I go wrong???

So I picked up the both of these,
(in peach and red)
(in melon and cream)

So now my hospital bag is mostly packed, sitting in the office ready to go. The only thing missing is my new dressing gown that I am eyeing off for mothers day, and a pair of slippers from Peter Alexander.

And if you, just like me, are after something new and reasonably prices, hop on over to Jeans West and check out their sale, they had some quite nice things there for next to nix!

Clothing - Boys

I am in love with online shopping, particularly with Gymboree! So many cute options, so little time (and gender certainty!)

You could have knocked me over with a coat hanger

I have been reading Megan's blog for a little while now, and loved her house from the start.

Recently she shared her 'Mom Cave' which is actually her walk in robe. And it would terrible of me not to share it with you.

Here it is empty, don't you just love the chandelier.

And the shoes. Oh. My. God. The shoes!

Isn't it the most adorable space ever? I wouldn't have enough clothes to fill an entire section, however I am in love.

What I love about winter

I love winter. Not only because it is my birthday, but because it means wood fires, warm jackets, and flannie jammies!

Sometimes, all at the same time!

Ok, that was a lie, I hate making my winter jacket smell like smoke! But I do come home of a night and put on my flannies, slippers, and place my bottom in front of our wood heater. And there is nothing that warms my heart like new jarmies. Which is why I have brought these three pairs, in as many weeks.

It started with my leopards when I arrived in Melbourne and realised I forgot my jarmies on a cold winters night! A trip to Peter Alexander was in order.

And then there was the trip to Melbourne to see my bestie and her litter, where I needed something to perk myself up. Zebra's were calling my name.

Until I saw the leopards. And then it was a 10 minute debate about which one's a I wanted more. I reasoned with myself, and decided to get the pants in both (the zebra's were originally a set). Unfortunately all the medium leopards were sold out :(

Bring on a week of stalking the Peter Alexander website three times a day, until I saw them in all their glory. And they were in my cart quicker than you can say 'jack rabbit swift'.

Now it is a debate over which pair to wear each night!

So what about you? Do you have a favourite pair of jammies? Tell me about them!

Winter Days

I don't know about you, but I hate being cold. I don't so much hate winter, but I do hate being cold in winter. Which is why I am forever on the hunt for the 'perfect winter jacket'.
I brought this one from Just Jeans recently (a whole week before it went on sale for half price I might add!) and I must say it is mighty close to being the perfect jacket. It's warm, versatile, and cute enough to wear to work and casually. However, it isn't made from the greatest material, and now it has all these little balls around the cuff, that I need to find the buzzer to remove.

What are you winter must haves?

To keep warm, must think warm

I love these singlets for little girls, even more when I realised they were from a semi-local seller, I was sold. Now if only they could prove the theory that if you think warm, you will be warm.

Damn you chilly Victorian weather! 9 degrees should never be a MAXIMUM temperature!

Mamma has a new hat

I can't beleive I live in Australia, in the middle of summer, and didn't own a hat. Bad April, Bad! It is now known as the Train Driver hat.

Check out my chins. Seems my extra 4 chins have merged and become 1 extra chin! Pin It

Weight Update

It has been a while since I have done an update on the weight situation. Last one was in November. Well since then I have lost another 4 kg. I am averaging a kilo a week (2.2 pound for you imperial people), which is very reasonable according to my doctor. He prefers that I would only lose .5kg (1.1pound), but I don't think he wants to argue with me about it.

I went through a terrible patch in the middle of December where I couldn't lose anything, not a kilo. I stayed the same weight for a month, and was terribly disappointed. Nothing I did mattered, I ate better, and I exercised (something I don't do much of). A tiny fill kick started it all again, and I have been a happy camper since.

Christmas was a struggle, I am finding that there are more things I can't eat. Pudding being the main killer on Christmas Day. Oh well, I am sure I will live without it :) Bread is also a killer. I just have to look at it and I am running for the bathroom. Hot chips are fast heading in that direction too. And the worst one of all, is I can't eat pumpkin! I looooooove pumpkin, but unless its mashed in with potato, I can't do it! I am shattered!

With this last 4 kilo's being gone, it saw me leave the Plus Sized section of Myer, and walk into the normal women's section. Ok, so things are still incredibly tight, but give it a few weeks, and it will all be good. It also saw me make $700 on ebay by selling majority of my clothes. I now do not own any black work pants, nor blue pants. I think the only pants I own, besides jeans, are a pair of grey pants I brought off ebay a week before Christmas, just in case. It is such an amazing feeling though, I haven't been in the normal section of a clothing store for a long time! I look forward to the day I can walking into ANY shop and buy something.

It has also got to the point where people comment on my weight loss. I have had several colleagues (none of which know about my operation) comment on how I have lost weight. Which I have to admit, makes me feel good. For so long I have felt down about how I look, but now I am starting to like how I look.

So that is where we are at. Almost half way to my ideal weight. Wow!

New Jeans

The time has finally came. I needed to buy new jeans, as my old faithfuls were looking way too baggy!

I had heard good things about Levi's Plus range, but much to my disappointment, they were not sold in Australia. HOW RUDE!

So ebay I went, and Levi 542's I brought.

And I waited.

And waited.

And waited.

And then they arrived. And I tried them on. And they fit. JUST! It will be a few more weeks until I wear them in public, as there is a slight muffin top happening, but they fit! I love them, they are great, and I think I might just have to buy them in a smaller size when I grow out of this pair

What shoes would you wear with this dress?

I have my friends wedding in 4 weeks, and finally got thee to the shops to find a dress.

I wanted a simple black dress, but apparently there is nothing out there in black (that looked decent), so i ended up with this little number from Myer

It comes to my knees, and I obviously need heels. I am loving the closed round toe shoes currently, but seems they are all sky high, which means in three steps time I will be face-planting the dirt.

What do you think?

Hats

And on my venture into David Jones to admire the Burberry scarfs, I found this beauty, and I had to have it.

I have my uncles 50th coming up, and I plan to wear it, but I have no idea what to wear with it. I am thinking of black pants, black top and a white/cream scarf. Anyone have a better suggestion?

Fashion Faux Pas

To get to the highway, in order of getting to work each day, I have to drive through the less affluent area of the town in which my husband [s]forces me[/s] choses to live.

And to say it is an interesting drive is an understatement. I see all kinds. The bogan children walking to school (or least pretending to). The drugies going home after a hard night dealing. The drunks sleeping in the gutter. The police attending a domestic dispute. But of all those things, I love the fashion to come out of what I refer to as the Ghetto.

Now, I am hardly the Victoria Beckham of the fashion world. To start off with, i create a shaddow in the sunlight...and a pretty big one at that! But I take pride in what I wear, and try to look presentable majority of the time. I shop at nice stores, buy nice things, and take care of those things.

However, I am a critic when it comes to other people. I don't mean to be, and I don't look down on (most) people for their strange fashion sense, but i have set rules that I adhear to when dressing.

I can not wear black pants with a navy jumper. Nor can I wear navy pants with black shoes. I can not do it. I must wear navy/white/coloured shoes with my navy work pants.

I refuse to own Crocs, mainly on the basis of they are darn ugly, and i wonder about the safety aspect of wearing something so heavy and wide on ones foot.

I can not wear brown shoes with black clothing. Brown shoes are for brown attire. Black is for everything else.

Underwear should never be seen. EVER!

I could go on, but I fear you will all hate me.

So this morning, on my way to work - still ill I might add - i saw a cracker. A lady walking across the road wearing tracksuit pants and a Holden jumper that was clearly designed for a man. Now that is nothing too out-there. What made it interesting was that she was wearing stilettos with said outfit!!!

Now, i could understand if she was wearing a corporate suit and runners. Hell good on her for walking to work, not something i would do unless i could shower there, but hey, you save the environment one day at a time. But the other way around?

Least it made me forget my sick feeling for 5 minutes as I laughed at her.

What fashion faux pas have you seen recently?

Just a little bit pedantic?

To say i am a little bit pedantic about certain things in our household is to say Hilter was only a little bit mean to the jewish.

My big thing currently is clothes folding. Odd, i know, but hey, its the way i roll.

With our new robes, our folded clothes will be on a shelf, as opposed to being hidden in a drawer like they currently are. Which means I want things folded nicely, just incase Martha ever came to visit me, and looked in my cupboards (hey, it might happen one day). Now I tried the YouTube video and there are too many constraints. My shirts could end up folded different widths! Not to mention far to complicated for the boy!

So my newest purchase is a  Flip Fold System . It makes sure than everything is folded the same shape and size all the time. Hell it's so easy, the boy could do it!

All for the bargain price of $20. Money well spent on my sanity if you ask me!
