This is me!

The husband and I had the privilege of attending my step-brother's wedding this weekend. Melbourne nicely turned on the sunshine for one more day, allowing me to not have to find a jacket that matched my dress.

I do love a wedding. It's nice to sit back and remember our own wedding...and then laugh that it isn't us going through all that stress!

Trunki

I first heard about Trunki's when my god-daughter was given one for her first birthday. I loved how practical it was, not to mention how pretty it was.

So when I saw the limited edition Trunki on MetroMum, I couldn't resist.
Isn't he cute?!?

Paynesville - Part 2

Day two of our Paynesville holiday included fishing.

I am not a fan of fishing, I find it to be incredibly boring. Hence I brought a book. The husband however was mighty happy

He was even happier when he caught a fish. We named him Brim.

Isn't Brim pretty in a fishy sort of way? Anyway, Brim was only a baby, and was allowed to swim back to his family.  We also caught a bigger fish, also named Brim, but we threw him back as we had nothing to do with him. Either way, the husband was mighty happy to have caught two fish in the one day.

Paynesville - Part 1

The husband I decided to take a break a few weeks back, booking our leave late last year. Origionally we were meant to be going on houseboat with my best friend, but it turns out she is pregnant with triplets! Extreamly exciting, but killed our holiday plans.

So in order to go see this house, we decided to go to the Gippsland Lakes and stay in Paynesville. Neither of us had ever been there, and, well, it seemed like a good idea.

Only one thing stood in our way. My car is a Toyota Corolla, and does not have a towball (probably because it is a small car, and has no need for a towball). That was overcome $450 later when a tow kit was fitted to my car (yes, I laughed at it too, until I realised going to Ikea would be so much easier with a trailer).

So we packed up the car and boat. And started the 6 hour drive.

The husband had booked a cute little cabin at Allawah. I can not recommend them highly enough, they had great facilities, including 7 waterfront cabins

Each cabin has its own private jetty (I think this was why husband chose this particular place, but anyhoo)

So a boating trip was needed. Unfortuantly there was a terribly low bridge ahead. It is at this point I wish to point out the husband failed to give me adequate notice to this fact, and I was forced to crouch in the bottom of a wet boat.

Thank you husband, thank you.

Heritage Homes

From Highview Homes. We're not quite ready to give up on the heritage look (plus I always wanted an attic room)

Kitchen Tiles - TICK!

After a week of walking on glued but not grouted tiles, it was starting to wear thin. Even when being careful to lift my feet, I would occassionally stub my toe on an edge. Hence a call was made to my step-dad to come and help with the grouting. Coming home on Friday I was greeted with this beautiful sight:

But, me being me, that wasn't good enough. I needed one last thing to be done by the husband. I needed the kickboards installed. Luckily we had set aside this weekend to do jobs around the house. Saturday we achieved little, mainly due to him being called in to work (convenient much?). But Sunday was the day. He had a choice: kickboards or paint the bathroom and do the skirtings. He chose kickboards.

And the bathroom

For the first time since renovating our bathroom three and a half years ago, we have a secure toilet. See, we never bothered to screw it to the floor. It was meerly held to the floor by the sucky black pipe underneath. EVERYONE who used our loo commented on how it rocks, but it never really bothered us to spend a grand total of $12.35 (screws - $1.30, floor plugs $2.50, drill bit $8.55) on fixing it to the floor. But with tiles in, it has now been secured, and no longer rocks.

So, it is now fair to say that our kitchen is 99% finished. The last two tasks are installing a phone line behind the freezer, and putting the handles on the new rangehood cupboards (which were finally replaced AGAIN, and third time was the charm). The bathroom needs a little bit of work in the coming weeks though.

Glass Jars

Does anyone know where to go jars like these from Pottery Barn?

I would prefer them without the monograming, as I am thinking of a display on the bath landing, one with decorative soaps, and assorted goodies.
