The Robe to End All Robes

The arrival of carpet meant that the door for the robe could be installed - much to my delight.

Much to my disgust we quickly established my husband was drunk when he made the frame for the robe, as the door frame differed significantly in width at the top to the bottom. Lets just say there was a tantrum, a screwdriver thrown, and a person who vowed never renovate again.

My mood was made slightly worse when the door was planed down which requires me to paint the bastard thing AGAIN! That job is still on the "when I calm down" list.

However, eventually we ended up with this

Which hides all of this (and more)

My mum tells me this is the largest baby robe she has ever seen. Clearly she hasn't seen my plans for our next house *hides*.

  1. April I sympathise completely. There are quite a few "blokes" who have trouble finding their way around a tape measure. MONT and I have had 2 instances when he failed to measure things correctly while we were renovating Number 10.
Yes, tantrums were thrown by me and I still can't get my head around a tradie not being able to measure something (a window) accurately and then transfer that measurement to a piece of paper to hand to the person making the new window.
So it's not just your man, believe me!

  2. April, I've just done a post about a person's inability to measure correctly and linked it to yours.

  3. You poor thing! I had a moment like that when we were installing new towel racks in the bathroom. I asked hubby several times had he measured it correctly to which I was curtly informed yes. However once the holes were drilled it turned out he had measured too short and hence the towel rack had to be cut down! Needless to say I walked away and left him to sort it out. I can laugh about it now though. Ange
