Fashion Faux Pas

To get to the highway, in order of getting to work each day, I have to drive through the less affluent area of the town in which my husband [s]forces me[/s] choses to live.

And to say it is an interesting drive is an understatement. I see all kinds. The bogan children walking to school (or least pretending to). The drugies going home after a hard night dealing. The drunks sleeping in the gutter. The police attending a domestic dispute. But of all those things, I love the fashion to come out of what I refer to as the Ghetto.

Now, I am hardly the Victoria Beckham of the fashion world. To start off with, i create a shaddow in the sunlight...and a pretty big one at that! But I take pride in what I wear, and try to look presentable majority of the time. I shop at nice stores, buy nice things, and take care of those things.

However, I am a critic when it comes to other people. I don't mean to be, and I don't look down on (most) people for their strange fashion sense, but i have set rules that I adhear to when dressing.

I can not wear black pants with a navy jumper. Nor can I wear navy pants with black shoes. I can not do it. I must wear navy/white/coloured shoes with my navy work pants.

I refuse to own Crocs, mainly on the basis of they are darn ugly, and i wonder about the safety aspect of wearing something so heavy and wide on ones foot.

I can not wear brown shoes with black clothing. Brown shoes are for brown attire. Black is for everything else.

Underwear should never be seen. EVER!

I could go on, but I fear you will all hate me.

So this morning, on my way to work - still ill I might add - i saw a cracker. A lady walking across the road wearing tracksuit pants and a Holden jumper that was clearly designed for a man. Now that is nothing too out-there. What made it interesting was that she was wearing stilettos with said outfit!!!

Now, i could understand if she was wearing a corporate suit and runners. Hell good on her for walking to work, not something i would do unless i could shower there, but hey, you save the environment one day at a time. But the other way around?

Least it made me forget my sick feeling for 5 minutes as I laughed at her.

What fashion faux pas have you seen recently?
